You know you are in for a treat when you see a professional video company setting up the shoot angles for the stage; it turns out the company are the same crew that filmed the Mickey Finn’s T.REX DVD.

The ‘New Roscoe’ is a great venue that was well supported by an excellent crowd who were well into the sounds Rolan was giving them.
Paul Fenton arranged with Rolan to do a couple of numbers with him; Rolan had no problem with this as they have known each other for a number of years now. Paul had played drums for Rolan’s dad Marc both on tour and on three albums, ‘Futuristic Dragon’, ‘Bolan’s Zip Gun’ and ‘Dandy in the Underworld’, this was also during the period that Rolan’s mum Gloria was with T.REX; it was kind of a family tradition, felt great.
Paul ended up playing congas (Mickey Finn’s congas no less) on three of the songs ‘Something beautiful’, ‘Possibilities’ and of course the second encore number of the evening ‘20th Century Boy’. After the gig Rolan was mobbed by fans who wanted CD’s autographs and photo’s, sort of Bolan familiarity?
The sound and atmosphere was great, Rolan and the boys rocked, a brilliant night had by all.
There are rumours of a promo DVD from the gig, will keep you informed.
